Lhung was a celestial dragon, a prince in his own time who’d been betrothed to the Heavenly Bride. Ages later his spirit is called by a mysterious song to a small planet where he is trapped in a new body and returned to the land of the living. As a vampire.
Worse than that is his one-sided love with his best friend, a mysterious young woman named Taus. He could never tell her what he has become. He’s too ashamed.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR *** THE LANGUAGE
The Heavenly Bride is a sporadically produced sci-fi romance (with elements of horror). I consider it a true Amer-manga: the blend of manga and anime influences with the fact that I happen to be an American. (You can thank Speed Racer for that.) If I had to classify it as a manga, I’d probably call it a fantasy-romance josei doujinshi – and have to stop there because I just don’t know. Book classifications are confusing so about that.
The Heavenly Bride is the dramatic companion story to Akashik: Battle of Angels. On the World Akashik timeline, it’s set years before the events in Akashik begin, when Akashik’s main protagonist, Taus, is a shy young college-age student. It’s told mostly from the point of view of the vampire that fell hopelessly in love with her.
It started out completely hand-drawn, but things change.
It produces very slowly because life has other demands from time to time. Someday perhaps my hobby will be more than a hobby and that will change. One can hope, like Lhung does when he hopes he doesn’t have to drink blood for at least a week if not two.
